Didimo - New Full-Body Digital Humans.
All New Body Capability

Didimo introduces full-body avatars with an anticipated official launch date of April 1, 2022.  With male and female bodies & select wardrobe choices, you can now integrate full-body high-quality characters into your experiences.

 

Our full-body characters leverage Didimo's lifelike facial fidelity and animation abilities. The Didimo Generation Pipeline automatically generates appropriate body skin tone to match the facial input photo as well as automatically selects male or female body type based on the input photo. Additionally, all bodies are fully animatable with standard industry tools. For full specifications, see below.

Select enterprise clients can access a library of body types and styles. Future releases will introduce additional body animation capabilities as well as fully customizable/sizable bodies.

NOTE: This page provides early access to our body files for evaluation and testing. The body files are still Work-in-Progress (WIP), and there are some known issues being addressed prior to formal launch.  For example, there are some intersections between garment and body, blending issues on the neck seam, and some placeholder textures. Both mesh and textures may change before the official launch. We appreciate any feedback as we work to finalize the launch of these features.

Rig

Didimos come with a joint-based rig for both body and head. The body rig is compatible with Mixamo. Note: we should theoretically be able to support Rokoko body capture within both Maya and Unity, but this has not been tested.

Performance & Generation Time

The current version of performance is here. 

Currently  testing on a laptop takes the following generation times: 

  • Head-only didimo: 70 s

  • Head and Body didimo: 75 s

 

We expect at least 5 seconds more processing time on the server for head and body files.

 

The body package size download is bigger than the head-only package because it has more textures for the body and garment.

 

Approximate package size: 

  • Head-only (glTF: 34MB, fbx: 36MB)

  • Full body: (glTF: 50MB, fbx: 51MB)
